PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Karine Bresolin is from Brazil. She has a BS.c. in biological sciences, two MS.c. (marine biology and biochemistry) and a Ph.D. in environmental sciences (fish physiology and toxicology). She is an international aquaculture consultant since 2002, with projects in China, Mozambique and Brazil. She is also a researcher in the fields of aquaculture, biochemistry, marine ecology and ecotoxicology. She has supervised more than 15 research projects of graduate and post-graduate students in Sweden (toxicology field) and in Mozambique (aquaculture field). Throughout her academic years, she has planned, conducted and executed projects to study the impacts of climate change in fish species and plankton, and has participated in research on fish physiology, fish ecology and plankton ecology. She worked as a hatchery manager in China and Mozambique, being responsible for overall production, biosecurity protocols, personnel training and administration. During her time in China she was responsible for the largest tilapia hatchery of that time, with annual production of approximately 300 million larvae.
